The Death of Lappy!
Well it happened last Monday night. I was walking casually from the coffee shop when it hit me, or rather I hit it. The patch of ice that sent me sprawling. It wasn't a small patch of ice either. It was "to the extreme" so to speak. I don't know how I didn't see it coming. As I hit the asphalt with a thud this thought ran through my mind, "Did I just waist $40 dollars on a chiropractor treatment today?" The answer was yes. The second thought was, "How is it that I still manage to fall on ice during the warmest winter in Wisconsin recorded history?" Just a talent I guess. Kind of like the way "I rock the mic like a vandal!"
Only latter did I discover that my laptop or "Lappy" as I like to call him, had taken the worst of the fall. He put up quite the fight, but in the end he gave up the ghost. The hardest part to swallow was the realization that I had not backed up my hard drive in about four months. How could I be so stupid? Well if you recall my life changed drastically about four months age. Change in the form of baby Zoe. So what have I learned from all this?
Don't have kids!
Just kidding! I love Zoe and I hope she can learn to love her forgetful father.
The best part has been the reminder of God's love for me even when I'm falling on the ice. Things could have been much worse. Hopefully I can pass that lesson on to Zoe and help her across a few of life's trickier patches.
And just in case you were wondering. Yes, that is a picture of my brother Scott in 1990.
WORD TO OUR MOTHER! I'm out of here.
